The Compton Education Foundation
The Compton Unified School District Education Foundation (a.k.a. Compton Education
Foundation) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation established in 2003 to raise funds for all 39
Compton public schools serving approximately 31,000 students.
Our Mission
The mission of the Compton Unified School District Education Foundation is three-fold: to act
as an independent revenue source in order to provide programs and services that are not
affordable through public funds; to enhance our students' learning opportunities; and to better
prepare Compton Unified School District students to become contributing members of our
society.
Our Focus
The CUSD Education Foundation will focus on restoring the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA)
in the schools. While providing music instruction throughout the elementary schools, we also
plan on implementing VAPA programs at the secondary schools once additional funding is
secured.
