Lanette White
Chairperson
Lanette White, a graduate of both Biola University and California State
University at Dominguez Hills, has been in the business of educating children for
over a decade. While in the Los Angeles Unified School District, she worked as
Gifted and Talented Coordinator for a number of years.
Lanette, Director of Advanced Learning, has been working for the Compton
Unified School district for approximately two years. During her brief stint in the
district, she has been directly responsible for ensuring that all secondary positions in
the area of Music Education have been filled; mandating that there are 60
instructional minutes per week dedicated to Arts Education in all elementary schools;
securing grants in excess of $300,000 in the form of musical instruments; and
providing venues for showcasing the visual and performing arts for CUSD students,
just to name a few. In 2007, Lanette was recognized by the County of Los Angeles’
Board of Supervisors for her numerous contributions to the students and citizens of
Compton, California.

Tami Foy

Tami Foy is currently both the Grants Manager for the Compton Unified School
District and the Executive Director of the Compton Unified School District Education
Foundation.
Tami has been in the district for nearly five years and has been an educator in
higher education for over twenty years. Tami holds both her B.S. and Masters in
Public Administration and is currently completing her doctorate in education at
Claremont Graduate University.
Tami’s goal with the Compton Education Foundation is to raise over $1 million
dollars over the next five years in order to expand the existing Visual and Performing
Arts (VAPA) in the CUSD schools. Tami says that it is a privilege to serve the
students in the CUSD and believes that there is an infinite amount of talent in our
schools just waiting to be developed.
Jaffe D. Dickerson
Legal Counsel
Mr. Dickerson has been a specialist in the field of labor and employment law for
over 28 years, and represents public and private sector employers in all aspects of
labor and employment law before state and federal administrative agencies and
courts.
Jaffe regularly presents management training programs and advises on
specialized areas of labor and employment law, including alternative dispute
resolution, workplace privacy issues, performance evaluation, executive employment
agreements, workplace violence prevention, employment discrimination, wrongful
termination, and sexual harassment.
Finally, he joined Littler Mendelson in 1988 after 11 successful years as
University Counsel for The California State University system.
